I just looked at the screen and realized we are almost at one hundred names which feels huge but also kind of tiny compared to the actual size of the hospital department we need to save. If you have been waiting for the right moment to nudge a neighbor or a family member to look at this link today is really the time because I want to walk into that meeting with a stack of paper that they simply cannot ignore.

The obstetrics unit at LDMH is an incredible service to the community. It would be a tremendous loss to women in rural Essex county!!

Many of the women that deliver at LDMH, that would provide very good feedback, are from a culture that do not have internet or means to voice the importance that this unit means to them. Just a thought when considering the number of signatures on this petition.

We need to keep the OB department... It has served many families and is still as needed in the future...

I just had my baby there on October 25 and I wouldn't of made it to windsor if they didn't have the OB there! Do NOT close leamingtons OB!!

I delivered my son at Leamington in July and had an AMAZING experience. The staff was so supportive with breastfeeding and I had excellent care. It would be such a shame if they closed and I would hate to have to go all the way to Windsor if I ever had another baby!!!

This would be a huge step backwards if LDMH was to close the OB unit. LHIN needs to give us time to change the mindset of the community. LDMH OB unit has an amazing staff, and it's local. SAVE LDMH OB UNIT!!!

Every birth is it's own unique life experience, every birth is an opportunity to bring dignity knowledge support and care to women and their families. They say Canada's birth rate is falling but what message is being sent to Canadian mothers right now...you're just aren't having enough babies! - You're birth doesn't make financial sense! I recommend LDMH to all moms, but many have shared stories of 'less than compassionate care' and there seems to be a sort of 'don't choose LDMH campaign' spreading which is a shame.
“Birth should not be a time in a woman’s life when she has to FIGHT for anything.” -Carla Hartley
“…Respecting the woman as an important and valuable human being and making certain that the woman’s experience while giving birth is fulfilling and empowering is not just a nice extra, it is absolutely essential as it makes the woman strong and therefore makes society strong. ” - Marsden Wagner
If there is anything we can do to save LDMH I'd love to know more about it!
