Vote of No Confidence

We, the members of Lake Arrowhead Property Owners Association, hereby submit this Vote of No Confidence regarding Dan Burroughs in his roles as Forestry Chairperson and Roads, Grounds & Equipment Chair, as well as current members of the Roads Improvement Committee (Dan Burroughs and Ron Race Sr.) and Truck Committee (Dan Burroughs, Ron Race Sr., and Ron Race Jr.).Regarding the forestry chairperson specifically, we have documented serious concerns including unauthorized contract signing, implementation of dangerous and destructive road patterns for heavy vehicles, and a consistent failure to address membership concerns, questions, or provide updates.Our vote of no confidence extends to the entire Roads Department leadership based on fundamental issues with professional competence. There is a clear lack of year-round knowledge and inconsistent practices, coupled with a failure to prioritize roadway maintenance appropriately. Most concerning is the persistent disregard for expert advice and professional recommendations.The leadership and communication problems are equally troubling. We have observed poor collaboration and decision-making, consistently delayed or ignored communication with membership, and ongoing disrespect toward Lake Arrowhead members and staff, and the lack of transparency in spending has further eroded our confidence in the current leadership.The operational effectiveness of the Roads Department has been severely compromised. There appears to be more focus on displaying visible work rather than implementing effective solutions. This has resulted in a failure to create safer road conditions, leading to a perpetual state of excuses rather than progress. The inability to properly maintain roads is exacerbated by the leadership's limited presence in the community.The current leadership's approach has resulted in declining road conditions, low membership morale, ineffective use of resources, and a persistent disregard for community input and expertise.Given these serious concerns, we demand that Dan Burroughs, Ron Race Sr, and Ron Race Jr’s. roles, responsibilities and collateral duties be terminated at the 2025 annual membership meeting and be barred from any future positions and employment. This will ensure a way forward and away from the endless controversy, judgement and questionable behaviors. We firmly believe that Lake Arrowhead requires leadership that maintains regular presence on our roads, demonstrates practical knowledge of year-round maintenance, shows respect for community input, and implements transparent and effective solutions.
