Council rejected the proposal and decided to protect the character of our village. I am worn thin by the struggle but deeply grateful that they finally listened. We need to stay alert to ensure future plans respect the history of this area.

We the undersigned residents of Delta, respectfully request Mayor and Council REJECT the March 2023 revised development proposal - as it drastically changes the look and feel of the Ladner Village Historic core. The design currently under consideration should require the developer to REVISE the project by:
- reduction of overall height and density at this location (6 stories is too high & too large)
- revision to building form and scale (loss of heritage feel & vertical encroachment);
- overall downtown core traffic study & how this site impacts that study prior to approval;
- traffic/parking study must include a real life parking requirement that accounts for surrounding resident parking to access local businesses;
- no relaxation of visitor parking or resident parking requirements;
- no relaxation of Development Costs or in cash lieu/amenity contribution funds from the Developer;
- an onsite Rental & Affordable housing component;
- Public Hearing on final design.

The silence from City Hall continues to be discouraging but we are not backing down. I have spent the last few days pouring over the latest planning documents and the scale of this project still feels completely wrong for our village. We intend to force a real conversation about how this building fundamentally alters our home.

Seeing the growth in support for this petition is overwhelming given how long and draining this fight has felt. It is clear that I am not the only one concerned about the future of our village core. We have a long road ahead but this momentum keeps me moving forward.

As a former resident who still works in Ladner, and a frequent visitor I find this plan goes against all that the city of Delta advertises as unique and village about Ladner. May as well say goodbye to the village if this goes through.
My two concerns are height. I think 4 stories is better. And parking. I lived in Steveston when they built the giant Onni property. It is max 4 stories and there is not enough parking in Stevestom anymore.
A six story complex in the heart of Ladner would completely and permanently change the character of this village. Look at Fort Langley for development ideas. They seem to have gotten it right.
Don't permit this monstrosity to be built! It will ruin our quaint village, create congestion in the heart of the town, exacerbate the pressure on the town's infrastructure to support such densification, and will cause those who aren't within walking distance of the wonderful shops in town to go and shop else where.
6 stories is too high. I live and own in this area and this greatly affects the residents already situated here. No infrastructure is suitable to deal with the increased density and traffic flow this project will cause
