Hey Everyone I am looking for support to see if we can get the following beach rule changed: The current rule states no life vest / jackets are allowed while life guards are on duty. I am looking to try to get this rule changed so that children are allowed to wear their life vests/jackets while life guards are on duty

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this request. It is truly your willingness to speak up that has carried this much further than I ever imagined it could go. This belongs to all of you.

Please common sense they should be wearing one of they can't swim. This law is rediculous!!
As an emergency nurse, not allowing children to wear their life jackets on our beaches goes against everything we are taught. You can't even be on a boat with out one. This needs to stop. We are the parents and if we feel our children need their life jackets on while they swim, that is our right and decision to make not some teenage life guard to argue and enforce us to do the opposite
rules are made by stupid people who have no children young enough to wear life vest but i for one think that it should be a rule that to use this beach life vest be used by children under 12 to baby`s
This rule makes no sense. Life jackets save lives! Life Guards only have 1 pair of eyes for MANY people in the water.
I feel that floating devices AND life vests should be worn at any beach with or without lifeguards in duty. It helps keep our children safe, especially the ones who can't swim and feel comfortable wearing one. My children don't even want to go to the beach if it isn't an option and that'd such a shame for such a silly rule
What a great idea to start this petition! I agree 110% that our children should be able to use their flotation devices!
What a ridiculous rule. Let's keep the kids safe!!

The safety of my child comes first.. It's ridiculous they don't require life vestry be worn... Making it against the rules for my child/ other children seems irresponsible...
