A la atención del rectorado de la Universidad de Alcalá,
Somos los estudiantes del programa Teach & Learn por la Universidad de Alcalá, y demandamos que la compensación para nuestras prácticas corresponda con la cantidad mostrada en el acuerdo firmado con la universidad en 2015. Ha habido un cambio en que el IRPF nos va a cobrar 24% de nuestro sueldo mensual en lugar de 2%. Este cambio es insoportable. El pago va a aplicarse retroactivamente para pagar los meses de septiembre a diciembre del año fiscal de 2015. Estamos en España con estatus estudiante que pertenece a una universidad que nos va a sacar 24% de lo que ganamos. Nosotros, como estudiantes, hemos mantenido y estamos cumpliendo nuestra parte del acuerdo. La Universidad de Alcalá ha roto el acuerdo que tiene con nosotros y debe de ser responsable por sus acciones. Los estudiantes de Teach & Learn demandamos el sueldo original establecido por el acuerdo.

To the President of the University of Alcalá,
We, as Teach & Learn students, demand that the compensation for our practicums correspond with amount we signed for in our agreement with the University of Alcalá in 2015. The IRPF change from 2% to 24% to be taken out of monthly stipends is unacceptable. We have been told be university administration that this garnishing of wages is to retroactively pay a tax gap for the months of September through December in the 2015 fiscal year. We are in Spain under student status for a university that will garnish 24% of our earnings. We, as students, have upheld our end of the agreement working our established practicum hours. The University of Alcalá has broken their end of the agreement and must be held responsible. Teach & Learn students demand the original wages that were written and signed for.

im still waiting on a real response from the administration but the silence is honestly telling. im spending all my time emailing people who might actually be able to change this so stay tuned for what comes next.

im honestly speechless seeing how many people are backing us up on this. its clear we arent the only ones who think this whole thing is totally unfair. thanks for keeping the energy up because it really makes a difference to see everyone coming together.

I did this program last year and I find it hard to believe the administration would do this! Se demanda el sueldo original, justo, y lo que se necesita para vivir--para los estudiantes/maestros trabajadores!!!
Future student of the Franklin Institute. I have paid my deposit and paid lots of money for required documents. If this program is taxed at such a high percentage, it will break the contract of this year and that of next year as well, which has already been issued to future students. I will have lost all the money I've spent already and be forced to look for other options. Obviously there are many factors here, but it is illegal to break a contract in any country.
Be fair. Be respectful.

I am a future student in this program and I find this concerning. They have not even sent out emails to future students alerting us of this change. Can you give us more information about what is happening?
