We homeschool, we pay our taxes and want our kids to have the same opportunities as the public school kids. I dont understand why politicians want to keep kids from participating in everything they want to try. They tell the kids you can be anything you want to be but then tell them they cant play.

Children in private, small schools without a sport should be allowed to play in public school sports as well as homeschool students.

These kids should be allowed to participate! Their parents pay school tax and many of these parents choose to home school their kids because the schools are not safe!

I am a mother of a very musically talented child that loves Band and all the people in it. However when we chose homeschool she lost that. She wants so bad to be back in band. Please I encourage you to sign this and give our homeschooled children the rights to continue or enroll in extracurricular activities, after all we still pay school tax on every utility bill, phone bill, etc.

Homeschooler of 3 children for 2 years after being enrolled in private schools for 5 years. We are looking forward to the time when we may play sports for public schools that are not offered in our private schools.

Our current school board said that if the Tim Tebow bill passed in KY they would stand in contempt of the court, however, my 2 sons would really like to see this passed. I was glad to see that they would still be eligible to play in a different district that has open enrollment from our county.

Its time for Ky to get with the program and stop discriminating against kids who want something better than public school. We pay the same taxes.

My grandchildren are all homeschooled and participate in the public school sports programs. However, they are now reaching high school age and will no longer be able to participate. This is a sad situation.

I am writing concerning my children and their rights to participate in sports and extracurricular activities in our local public schools. I have homeschooled my children for four years and just this year my oldest two returned to public school just to be in band and basketball. The education they are receiving is sub-par to what they would receive at home, but the desire for sports pressured them to want to enroll into our local public schools. My children would prefer to be home educated but cannot due to the sports and art programs only being available to enrolled public students. I am writing to alert you to our rights as parents to educate our children as we see best, and as a tax payer who pays taxes for the public schools to allow us to play sports and be in the art programs provided in our local schools. I as a tax payer do not see how this is fair or justified. I encourage you to pass a bill to allow all homeschooled children to be allowed to participate in public school programs.

I am a high school golf coach. We home-school our son. He needs opportunities to participate in athletics. We pay school taxes just like everyone else and he should be able to play.
