Kentucky Tim Tebow bill

The academic eligibility requirements are too weak, if a parent is schooling and a parent wants their kid to play sports they have an inherent conflict of interest. Unless this bill is changed this will just become a loop-hole for promising athletes, with poor academic performance, to circumvent academic eligibility.

I feel that as long as these kids parents are paying taxes, their kids should have access to any of the extra curricular activities that public schools offer.

I strongly encourage support by all for this proposed legislation to provide home school athletes with a competitive venue to showcase their skills. As homeschool parents, we pay property taxes to support public school systems, but are effectively discriminated against and denied opportuties for sports and other public school programs. As a youth sports coach, there is no doubt that both athletes and school programs will mutually benefit from such an opportunity.

I support home school students participating in all public school extra curricular activities and am thankful that the Kentucky high school speech and debate community welcomes us. Now lets make it a law!

I support Homeschool students participating in school athletics.

I believe all students should have the right to play sports! My son is homeschooled and I am a tax paying citizen! He deserves to get to play sports with his peers! Please pass this bill! Thank you!

This seems like a win-win. Homeschool families will get something for the taxes they pay, and the schools will benefit from having homeschooled students in the athletic and music programs.

The argument that homeschooled kids do not have the same accountability as public school kids is not an argument. Considering that home school kids have higher test scores than public school kids demonstrates the academic soundness of the homeschool environment.

The Public Schools are missing out on a lot of very talented kids. As a tax payer our kids should be allowed to participate in the sports programs.

I am in favor of this bill. My grandchildren are homeschool and do very well in it. They love sports and would love to play. Just like everyone else we all pay our school taxes and I think they should be allowed to play sports. Thank you.
