Klout is a social media tool which aims to measure the influence of various social media users and brands. Participants who add the application are given a "Klout Score" on a scale of 1-100, 1 being not influential and 100 being extremely influential. Although clever in their marketing and approach, Klout lacks any tangible value to offer higher ed institutions and should not be used as a success metric.

By signing this petition, you agree to:

1. Not use Klout as a measurement tool for social media success
2. Focus on improving student and institutional outcomes with social media
3. Spread the word about the problems with Klout by sharing the petition.

klout is such a joke. total vanity metric that means absolutely nothing in the real world. universities should focus on actual engagement instead of these dumb arbitrary numbers.
