I was just looking at the photos of the old houses again and thinking about how much history is packed into those few quiet lanes. Someone messaged me about their grandmother used to live on that exact street and honestly reading those stories makes the silence from the planning authorities feel so much louder right now.

My grandfather grew up in a place just like this. Keep it for the future please stop tearing down everything old in sg
The kampong spirit is what makes us who we are. Once it is gone it is gone forever. Save our heritage
So much Concrete already. Just leave this one place alone it actually has character and soul unlike the rest of the malls.
KEEP IT. We dont need more ugly condos.
Visited last weekend and it was so peaceful. Really sad to think they want to bulldoze it for no good reason.

Please dont destroy the last bit of history we have left. Its the only place where kids can actually see how we used to live.
