Seagulls are violent, noisy, threatening, destructive and are scavengers. the wildlife and countryside act 1981 declared that all birds in the U.K be indiscriminately protected. It is legal to brutally kill a mouse, but illegal to kill a seagull though the level of nuisance a seagull causes often exceeds that of a mouse. as the herring gull is currently Red listed (the highest form of protection offered to a bird) due to a decline in population in coastal areas. I propose that a person, without a license from Natural England, should be legally able to exterminate Herring Gulls (often informally called seagulls) at their own discretion and that herring gulls be declassified as a protected species.

Sea gulls you would think of as being on the coast, however they are not they are more and more moving in land and causing more mess and causing havic in land as well as on the coastle areas.

I have no objections to seagulls at the coast - I do however object to them living in unnatural urban environments, subsisting off Koi fish and scavenged refuse, creating mess and noise pollution. The current law and Natural England's position is a farce.

I cannot leave my house or go in garden without being mobbed and divebombed, not forgetting the filth left on my car.

The house at the back of us has a herring gull nest on their roof with two chicks my husband and I have forgotten what it is like to have a good nights sleep as the noise they make at 4.00am in the morning is awful, you can't go in your garden without being harassed and on bin days they they swoop down rip the bin bags open and leave rubbish strewn all over the pavement and road. The birds are now colonising in what was a peaceful neighbourhood and something needs to be done!!

A significant reduction in breeding pairs is required now .the natural ecological food source of this bird is significantly reduced since 1960s, but the birds still increase and diversify food source by agression .they attack and maim

I've lost count over how many times I've seen people attacked on the streets by herring gulls for their food. They are vicious vermin and are migrating inland and creating havoc for the wildlife. They bullied the black headed gull away from Brighton, attack whales and fisherman, attack people for food. It's absolutely disgusting. This needs to be sorted out.

I can’t leave my house without being attacked, if they can not look after there babies, they have not right to attack, not my fault they are in my garden.
