I spent half the night arguing with a local pub owner who thinks the 1.30am curfew is fine even though everyone knows it just pushes the crowds out onto the street at the exact same moment. It is honestly exhausting trying to explain that creating a bottleneck is not the same thing as managing a city but I am not giving up on this yet.

I really thought this would just be me shouting into the void alone but look at all of you showing up because this new closing time is just completely nonsensical and honestly kind of insulting to anyone who wants to enjoy a night out without being kicked into the street early. It feels like the tide is turning and I am honestly just buzzing seeing so many of you feeling the exact same level of irritation about these rules.

Backwards thinking. Everyone is just going to go to Dublin or somewhere else now. Bad move for business.
Stupid rule. People are just gonna house party instead and itll be way more hassle for the guards.
Absolute joke. Towns gonna be dead by 2am anyway. Why are they ruining the nightlife here.
KILKENNY IS RUINED
Who actually comes up with this stuff? Makes no sense to close that early on a weekend.
