The area surrounding KFC in Halesowen is continuously covered in unacceptable levels of litter, of which the majority is related to the fast food chain.

The restaurant is located in one of the main thoroughfares in and out of Halesowen, and as such has been subjected to litter picks by volunteers. Restaurant management has also been approached by members of the public, but there is very little interest from them in keeping Halesowen tidy.

Now that KFC has become established in Halesowen, we feel that the company needs to take responsibility for keeping the local area free of KFC litter. We would like the company to carry out timed litter picks to remove the paper and food debris from, and not limited to, Earls Way, Whitehall Road, Mucklow Hill island, and Townsend Island.

In 2014 Halesowen took part in the Britain in Bloom campaign. It would be a great shame if a multi-national company such as KFC ruined Halesowen's chances in the 2015 campaign by not taking responsibility for the impact it is having on the local environment.
