Joshua Phillips was convicted in July of 1999 for the murder of his neighbor Maddie Cliftion. Nw they passed a new law that states you an't convict a minor to a life sentence. Now they are talking about giving him a reduced sentence or a new trial. I am trying to make it so his sentence is grandfathered in so he must serve the whole life sentence

The prospect of a new trial ignores the gravity of this crime and the justice already served. Call your local representative today to demand that current life sentences for violent crimes remain unchanged. Post the link to this petition on your Facebook page to keep this case in the public eye.

Keep him in prison. He took a life, yet he still gets his, the most justice that can be given to her sister and family and HER is keeping him in jail. Model prisoner means nothing, physcopaths will do anything to manipulate and get their way.

He took the life of a defenseless girl and “ignored” her rotting corpse under his bed. He has no humanity and should never be released I don’t care how much of a model inmate he is.

I know what it is like to lose a sibling. My brother died when he was 16 and I was 8. It was a car accident, not a murder, but I know exactly what it feels like to lose someone like that and this man should never get the chance to do something like that again. Keep him in prison for life.

Because of him she’s dead, he doesn’t deserve to get out. He knew what he was doing, he even tried to kill her. Didn’t work so he actually then went back again to kill her. Then hid her under his bed.

He knew exactly what he did and never came clean about what really happened. The poor girl and her family. Leave him where he is. If he’s doing well in there I believe that is the ONLY place he will be doing well. Imagine releasing him and history repeats itself..

Maddie never had a chance at a long, happy life. She can never be freed from her grave. Joshua should continue to pay the price of murder by living his life in prison, and in prison only. Do not free a violent murderer.
