It has come to the attention of the student body that Dr. Krotish's position at the USC School of Medicine may be ending effective July 2017. The student body would like to object to the release of Dr. Krotish from the School of Medicine, and we strongly endorse retaining her services. Dr. Krotish's efforts have had a significant impact on the students and we strongly feel that she is working towards bettering the School of Medicine experience in meaningful ways.

I have been hearing so many stories about how Dr. Krotish helped students through their hardest rotations. Her mentorship is the reason many of us are still on track to graduate and losing her feels like losing the heart of this program.

Seeing this level of support for Dr. Krotish confirms exactly what I felt when I first started this push. It is clear that so many of us recognize how much she has fundamentally changed the environment here for the better.

Dr. Krotish has been an excellent mentor to me throughout my time here at USC. She was one of my small group leaders in ICM and went above and beyond to help me achieve one of my life long goals of serving abroad as part of a medical mission trip to Peru between M1 and M2 year. Dr. Krotish has always been thoroughly involved with student activities, welcoming and willing to help any and all students. I hope that she will continue to be a part of USC SOM for years to come.
Time after time, Dr. Krotish has shown herself to be an extremely valuable and capable member of the SOM faculty. She is kind and compassionate when students are struggling, and tenacious and innovative in finding ways to help them. Dr. Krotish makes it clear that the students are her first priority. She is the type of person our school desperately needs to support its students, and I believe that letting her go would be to the detriment of the SOM.
Dr. Krotish is a fierce advocate for ALL of the students. She cares about improving the USCSOM inside and out. She is warm, inviting, and a shoulder to lean on for so many of my classmates. I hope that this petition serves to open the dialog as to why her contract is being terminated and to ultimately keep Dr. Krotish at our school. She is truly an indispensable asset.
I fully endorse Jordan Cone's and Jessica Muse's comments. When the Academic Review Board told me to prioritize my mental health, Dr. Krotish went above and beyond to be my ally. I sincerely believe, and would happily testify in person, that without Dr. Krotish's help, I would most likely have failed my final exams. She has been an invaluable part of my M1 journey.
Dr. Krotish's support throughout the school year has been invaluable. I always knew I could find help, support, and a listening ear in Dr. Krotish no matter what came my way. Her encouragement was integral to my successes this past year.
Dr. Krotish has gone above and beyond the call of duty in her role at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. I know that she has excellent relationships with many of the M1 and M2 students, and has been a fantastic source of support for a lot of us. She is the faculty sponsor for the Healthy Strides 5K and Health Fair that was held a month ago at Spirit Communications Park and was a great success for an inaugural event. Having worked with her on the Healthy Strides committee, she was instrumental in our success, and I doubt that we would have even held the event had we not had her help and support. She was excellent in her role as faculty advisor for the event; the students were given the freedom to make our own decisions, but whenever we needed advice, she was more than happy to offer hers to us. She wanted us to gain the experience of dealing with vendors and booking the stadium, but when we had issues getting responses as students, she was more than happy to send supporting or follow up emails that gave our requests the legitimacy to elicit responses from our contacts. She never tried to make the event her own. She elegantly supported our efforts when support was necessary but knew when to back away and let us navigate certain situations ourselves. She helped us grow as people, and I believe that we will be better physicians, employees, and leaders for having had her guidance. I think that it speaks volumes how many other testimonies I have seen in this petition of students who say that Dr. Krotish their "go-to person" in the administration, and I hope that our efforts show you that she is the exact type of person this school needs in an administrative/faculty role.
Dr. Krotish has helped me a lot personally. She has been there for me when I have specific questions/concerns and other staff members are never there to answer my questions. She is a crucial and probably one of the most effective member on staff at the USC-SOM. It sucks to see a wonderful person who is INVESTED IN THE STUDENT'S ACADEMIC and PERSONAL HEALTH be let go because some people just can't see the positive effect she has on the school. She does a lot more for the students at this school than other paid member on staff. It's ashamed that she isn't the head of student affairs and stuck in her current position (trying to do her best to help all the super stressed out student).

She goes out of her way to help students with academic and extracurricular endeavors. Many students, including myself, have turned to her for advice and direction when it seems there are no other faculty members to talk to. Losing Dr. Krotish would be losing a powerful voice for the medical students.
