1) We, the undersigned believe that the governor's proposal to eliminate the Children's Trust Fund (CTF), would drastically negatively impact families in Connecticut. As there is a national standard for doing so, we further urge the legislature to keep prevention programs under CTF and not the Department of Children and Families. Prevention programs are successful only if there are separate and distinct lines drawn between prevention and interventionary services. 2)We further believe that the Connecticut Commission on Children (COC) serves as a barometer for our citizens that have no voice; the children. Without its expertise and finger on the pulse of our communities; our families would be severely underserved and children’s lives would be severely impacted. Legislators, please keep CTF and COC.

I have been reading through the heartfelt notes you all are leaving and I am genuinely overwhelmed by how much you care about these programs. This effort has grown into something much larger than I ever imagined when I first clicked create. Please know that I am working hard to make sure those in power understand the stories behind these signatures.

prevention is cheaper than fixing things after they break. stop trying to save a buck at the expense of kids.

Keep the commission. They actually listen to what these families need instead of just doing paperwork.
