We, the citizens of the City of Virginia Beach, petition the Virginia Beach City Council to mandate that the City Parks and Recreation Department to continue to run and manage city wide youth tackle football.

The Virginia Beach City Parks and Rec wants to abandon youth tackle football. Therefore, not providing the opportunity for our sons and daughters to participate in an organized tackle football. Our youth age boys and girls (age 10-14) are in the most influential years of their development. The City Parks and Recreation Department stated mission statement is to 1) Deliver programs that reflect priorities in our community and 2) support tiered levels of service that recognize the diverse needs of our community.

I demand that the Virginia Beach City Parks and Recreation Department fully fund youth tackle football.
