Maryland Legislators have introduced a bill to ban youth football and other contact sports. The bill makes lacrosse and hockey checking illegal as well as heading soccer balls. I believe that this legislation is another form of government overreach and those decisions should be left up to the parents. Parents know their kids and must still be the ones to decide which sports their child plays.
“The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views”. That’s the definition of liberty for those on the left who so often forget. Educate society on the risks of these sports and then allow individuals to make their own parenting decisions.
Parents should parent their kids. This is just another step the government is taking to remove parental rights.

This should be parental choice. It is not a public health issue like the Noro Virus. Stop telling me what I can and cannot do.kill the bill

I know what has been done in Youth Football over last decade to make game safer. This Bill is nothing short of significant government overreach.
