Wolves are teetering on the edge of losing federal protection. President Barack Obama removed the grey wolf from the endangered species act in 2011 and turned management of these beautiful creatures over to state wildlife agencies more about 2768 wolves have been slaughtered by sport hunters and trappers in only 6 states. These states are Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin and now Michigan. 1158 of the wolves were killed in 2012-13 alone. The number of wolf deaths does not include the scores of slaughtered wolves killed by federal and state predator control programs.

The situation is getting even worse. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to remove protection for wolves across nearly the entire country. This would ruin the grey wolf recovery. In research the current wolf management may lead to dangerously low numbers and eventually extinction. Something needs to be done about this.
This treatment to wolves is senseless and tragic, it is up to all of us now to stop wolf slaughter and speak out on their behalf. Sign to save the wolves!
