Jack Martin finally caved and reinstated the Esperanza Student Advocates at Western High. Principal Diaz tried to silence us but this community proved that we run this school. We won, but we are keeping our eyes on the administration to make sure they respect our students from here on out.

This summer Principal Diaz
wrongfully removed the Esperanza Student Advocates from Western High School for personal reasons. This action
is not in the best interest of the students and as a parent, student, alumni, or member of the community I am concerned for
the safety of Western High School Students.
As a parent if the Advocates are not there to keep a safe and peaceful environment when school starts, I may have to transfer my student out of the District.
We are asking Emergency Manager Jack Martin to reverse Mr. Diaz’s bad decision and put Esperanza Student Advocates back at Western High School for the start of the 2014-2015 school year.

The momentum behind this petition is proving that our community refuses to accept Principal Diaz forcing out the people who actually protect our students. Jack Martin can try to ignore our demands, but he cannot ignore the thousands of us who are ready to hold him accountable for this dangerous decision.

My son goes to Western and he needs the advocates there. Diaz is making a huge mistake and the school wont be the same without them.
If they dont bring back the advocates I am moving my daughter to a different school. Not worth the risk.
I was very happy when several dozen community members can to our house to sign the petition!
I emailed the district office yesterday and still have not heard back. Seems like they are just ignoring us. Keep pushing.
THIS IS WRONG. Put them back in the school immediately. We need them there for the kids.

I called and left a message for Mr. Martin. Karen Ridgeway's email was not taking any new messages - hopefully that means it was full! I followed up with both by email.
