I really thought this would just be a quiet conversation among a few parents but your stories have shown me how much comfort and practicality means to everyone. I am busy gathering all these perspectives to show the school why keeping our current uniforms is so important. Thank you for trusting me to carry this forward.

I am truly stunned by how much this has grown in such a short time. This energy belongs entirely to you because I never imagined so many people felt the same way about our school uniforms.

I had both the pinafore and tracksuit during my school years. I always opted for the tracksuit as it was much comfier and kept me warm in the winter months. I don’t see why it needs to be changed!!
It's cold for most of the school year. Tracksuits really helped my child keep warm. She often complained of the cold wearing the shirt and cardigan.
Let the children learn in comfort, it also encourages games and fitness as they have freedom of movement. Surely learning and fitness/health trumps how they look to the outside world.
I want to keep the kilmacanogue National school tracksuit uniform as it is. The uniform is very comfortable & pratical for both boys & girls, there is no need to change it other than being strict with not allowing 'branded' tracksuit bottoms. It also needs to be noted the huge expense this will add to parents with already tight household budgets.
Kilmacanogue NS has given my children a wonderful education. Now 20 and 18 their fondest memories are of all the freedom outside and the sports. Obligatory formal uniform will put an end to this for my third child (11) going into sixth class. Kilmac stands out for its happy, well mannered children. Let’s keep it that way!
i say keep the tracksuits,, down with this sort of thing !!

Activities and the Tony Lawlor cup are a big ritual and tradition in the kilmac school how are the children suppose to participate in these every day if they are only wearing tracksuit on PE days? Don't fix what's not broken!!
