It would be a different story if the dogs weren’t being well cared for and causing havoc. But this is ridiculous! What’s the point in separating them, when all it will do is cause the dogs anxiety in the last years of their lives. Now that’s animal cruelty.

Separating elderly animals, especially in old age and high needs will result in an unnecessary stressful and eventual death of the animals. An exception needs to be made in this particular case as all are elderly, a puppy being rehomed is a completely different situation to an elderly needy dog. They are well cared for and obviously their needs are being met by their family, removing them would affect all of the dogs and their owners. Hume needs humanity and see sense in an unbelievable situation where it is even being considered taking away 2 dogs. So what the council is saying take your elderly parents and dump.them with a stranger and walk away. What do you think would happen? Same situation here, dogs, humans, same; there is no difference. Hopefully someone in the council sees sense and allows them to all live out their old age together in the safety and love of their own home.

Disgusting worry about backyard breeders and animal cruelty rather than someone who obviously loves and cares for their dogs. Hang your head in shame

Heartless!! We have a Samoyed and they are part of our family. How cruel to break apart a family like this. Council should stick to the important matters and stop running sticking their noses into places they don't belong.

These dogs are obviously well cared for. With the over flow of dogs in pounds. And so many animal cruelty cases where people have been charged but can still keep a pet seriously this is the least of the councils problems out there. If you really need to make an example fine em. Dont make the dogs suffer.

A little common sense from the council is required here and compassion for the family. Let the older dogs live out the last couple of years in their home where clearly they are well cared for.

Maybe council should look at amending the bylaw. Why do they need a quantity if no one is complaining about noise or other issues.

You have to let them keep them. You can see they are well looked after and they bring so much joy to the family. Just like when they bring them to events how happy it makes everyone.
I understand law is law but how many people break the law for the wrong thing and nothing happens to them. Yet this amazing family are doing something good and you wanna punish them.
