I am not opposed to a partnership with the school using the park for students. It is the significant financial contribution on the part of the school which then gives them primary control over the park with tax payers at their mercy. The city should authentically own and operate the park, giving the school a contract for very clear, limited use of the park. Taking out the word "exclusive" from the original agreement does not change the understood agreement where the school is primary and the community is secondary.

Passage of this resolution is greatly concerning to me. We purchased our home in DC Ranch with the assurance that the quality of the surrounding areas, and hence the quality of life, would be maintained. Powerful interests on the school board should not take precedence over the interests of the local residents. Will government at the local level be any better at listening to its constituents than the federal government has been? Residents - and voters - pay attention to how the City Council handles this.

Property is meant to be a Park, that is the usage that DC Ranch residents expect to keep the neighborhood as special as it is.

As a Scottsdale citizen for 30 years, I in no way favor the development of any public land for the exclusive use of a private, for profit, organization.

Mayor Lane,
Your daughter Nancy worked for me at UBS, and you came in to meet me before you were mayor, and you seemed like a fair person. I live across the street. If politics force you to adopt this, it's bad business. No access for the residents in the area? This makes no sense, and is unfair to the residents. I understand there are some powerful board members at Gray Hearts, but think of the people who voted for you.

Not the original intended use, and the residents are all completely opposed - enough said.

We recently bought into DC Ranch knowing that the land was to be used for a "public park" not a multi-sport park. This was the intention of the donation and should be honored.

A Great Hearts sports complex is NOT a public park. Parcel is too small, traffic, lights and noise will overwhelm the area.

With the neighborhood so greatly impacted this parcel should remain designated a public park. This was part of the reason we bought our house in this location. There is no running track or football field at our "public neighborhood school" we can have access to. To subject the neighborhood to traffic , lights, etc. and not allow the public to use the public park land is wrong!

No more traffic, lights and conmotion. We need to keep this project as it was intended. No more initiatives to modify and create problems to DC Ranch and Windgate Ranch areas. Its bad enought what we have to put up with Westworld and thier noisy events.

I oppose the current proposal to construct a Great Hearts Academy athletic facility W of 91st Street and S of Trailside View. This land was deeded to City of Scottsdale for public use not private use. Its construction will lead to noise pollution, light pollution, crime, forever destroying the property values of DC Ranch homeowners whose annual property tax payments are in excess of $10 million. Please do not approve this catastrophic disruption to the functioning of our community.
