MY DAUGHTER ATTENDED BYRNES AND MY SON WILL BE A TENTH GRADER THERE NEXT YEAR. THIS HYSTERIA HAS TO STOP. THE SCHOOL ALREADY DROPPED THE FLAG AND THE GENERAL YEARS AGO. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. KEEP THE NAME! THIS COMING FROM A REBEL PARENT WHO IS HIMSELF A CAVALIER.

The flag and the Rebel name did not kill those 9 people in Charleston. It was the act of the Devil.

Taking the Rebel out of Byrnes is crazy!! They are putting the term Rebel into a different meaning than what it actually stands for! Byrnes do not have a rebel flag or anything racial in its name nor is it affiliated with anything racial!! The Rebels have been the mascot for many many years!!! And it hasn't been a problem until now!! When will all the racial stuff be enough!!!!!!

Class of 99, The name is in no way shape or form stand for racism. Go back through time and look at all the people that came together and continue to come together./ There is NO african american section or white section. Everyone is equal! Don't change the name bc the NAACP has to find a way to take everything away. When it means nothing!!!! It is just a name!!!!

My wife is an alumni! Class of 2008! It is dumb that people are going so far as to change a school name that has been there for so many years. Keep the name!
