As you may or may not know Strathclyde University is intending on removing SPIDER as an online learning resourse and replacing it completely with Moodle/ MYPlace. 

In many ways Spider has been tailored specifically for not only the school of psychology's needs, but also for other schools within the university, so it's difficult to imagine that we'll get a new system with the same level of function.

We use Spider in a number of ways: sign up for practical groups, class examinations, coursework submission and feedback, online tutorials, disseminating information, lecture notes, practical handouts, admin forms, class polls and more. Even in the unlikely event that we could be offered the same functionality from Moodle there would be a huge learning curve for staff and students.

We need to make it known that losing SPIDER as an online learning resource will be a detriment to the staff and students, not a benefit.
