Absolute disgrace. Pienaar has shown Ulster loyality over the past years and now it's ulster's turn to show that same loyality to Pienaar.

Everyone sign this petition on change.org, it seems to be doing better than this one. https://www.change.org/p/irish-rugby-football-union-ruan-pienaar-must-be-allowed-to-remain-at-ulster-rugby-ursc?recruiter=179643504&utm_source=petitions_share&utm_medium=copylink

This is a total disgrace! This gentleman has gave his life to Ulster and has been an amazing influence on and off the pitch. Ulster and indeed Ireland have benefited from his time here. This decision needs overturned and the policy seriously looked at. I hope Ruan and his family get the desired result and the well deserved result!

Could see some sense in it if he was keeping a developing scrum half from getting game time. Just looks like a really spiteful decision.

If Ulster aren't competitive then rugby support will suffer. We need to attrack and keep our overseas players.

Yes this appears to be a deliberate act to weaken the resolve and strength of the ulster rugby team.

I believe that the IRFU is sending out a disastrous message to rugby players and supporters worldwide, where the headlines from New Zealand to South Africa already say “IRFU boot out Ruan Pienaar”. With this approach the only way we will recruit committed world-class players in the future is on a purely financial basis (rugby mercenaries) and that’s not a sustainable business model for Irish Rugby going forward particularly up against the vast resources available to other countries. Ruan has been extremely loyal to both Ulster and Irish rugby over the years turning down lucrative offers to move to other clubs – it’s about time the IRFU repaid some of that loyalty. Certainly the Ulster supporters appreciate his loyalty and that of his family even if the IRFU don’t - SUFTUM
