We live on Idlebrook Dr in Raintree and it makes no sense for my child to need to be bussed across the highway to attend a high school when he can walk through the raintree community trails with his neighbors to a closer high school.

We can walk to Godwin, hear the band, and watch the track team run past our house. Our children are safer going to Godwin than commuting in the congestion during traffic times on Gaskins, 64, and Parham.

I’ve lived on Woodthorne Ct in the Raintree subdivision since 1993. The primary reason we chose this subdivision is due to the community group of schools where neighborhood kids were able to attend the same schools together from elementary thru High School. My daughter was able to have that experience and I’m hopeful the next group of kids can do the same .

I live in Fox Hall and support keeping Raintree together in Godwin. It makes no sense to split this neighborhood or to send any of them elsewhere. The redistricting committees and school board should keep Fox Hall at SPMS and DRHS, which frees up space for existing Godwin neighborhoods like Raintree. It makes much more sense in terms of transportation, distance, and natural boundaries for both Raintree and Fox Hall, to keep them where they are now.

We live 1 mile from.Godwin. our children should not be bussed 5 miles to Tucker across major highways. This makes no sense and puts our children at an unnecessary risk to be involved in traffic accidents. In addition it splits our community in half and breaks up our community spirit separating children who have gone to school together for all their school years. This is unfair.

It's extremely difficult to think about our Raintree neighborhood being pulled apart from the family it's grown to be. Our neighborhood children live so close to Godwin that they are able to safely walk home. We can hear the Marching Band playing from our house.
The thought of having new student drivers on the interstate in morning traffic to travel to a far away school while the other half of the neighborhood gets to stay close by and safe sounds unbearable. Please don't let this happen.

Why pick these three blocks when there are barely any more houses until the other side of Broad Street? It would be a tiny island of kids that don't know anybody else there. Plus, many people move to Raintree specifically because it is in the Godwin district.

Do not split up the kids in Raintree. I moved here in 1985. Then when my parents died I moved back and my wife and I are raising our two kids here. The intent was for them to go to Godwin like my brother and I. Please consider messaging or calling Pat O'Bannon who is our board of supervisors representative.

DO NOT DIVIDE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!! Let our kids continue to go to school together. How devastating to hear the football games from Godwin in our own backyard, but yet NOT be allowed to go there!

I utterly oppose this idea. I don't see any benefits for the community. As usually, people are not asked. If the local politicians want to redistrict, they can redistrict their backyards.

Please keep Raintree and adjacent neighborhoods in the Godwin zone. I can’t imagine a scenario in which it makes sense for students within walking distance of a school to be bused to another. The GHS homecoming parade goes through Raintree! This plan sounds poorly thought out.
