I would like Mr. Gemka to continue as Principal of PRES. He has always been very kind and caring to my children. They have all looked up to him. He has kept the school's environment a special and nurturing one for all of our children. The special education programs have been excellent and benefited so many of the people I know. Plus it will be so good for the development of the school to have continuity in the Principal role. Finally, the process around a change this significant needs to be more transparent.
Mr. Gembka may not have the strong personality that Pete Politi had; and some view as important , but to me, he has what is more important: he is a very bright and qualified educator, compassionate, fair, caring, discreet, approachable and kind. My daughter truly likes Mr. Gembka. In addition, Mr. Gembka has been blamed for low test scores since he started at PRES. However, test scores have been consistently low at PRES since we enrolled our eldest child in 2nd grade 7 years ago. It is obvious that the root of the problem of low test scores goes beyond Mr. Gembka.

Mr Gembka is the best thing about that school right now. My son actually enjoys going to class every morning because of the culture he built. Getting rid of him would be a huge mistake for the whole district.
