Updates

November 15, 2016

The feedback regarding the importance of our constitutional process continues to be meaningful. I am currently reaching out to local representatives to ensure that these concerns are understood by those in office. Your commitment to maintaining our current electoral framework is both noted and appreciated.

The momentum behind this petition confirms that many citizens value our existing constitutional processes. We have reached a significant milestone in our collective effort to uphold the current electoral system.

Unfortunately, this issue does come up periodically and, of course, by whichever party lost to the Electoral College. As long as our Constitution isn't changed, regarding the Electoral College, we will always have the opportunity to change the direction of our Country when we don't like the direction it is taking. With a Popular Vote system the only States that would be visited by Presidential nominees would be the populated coastal states, the rest of the U.S. would be totally ignored, their votes basically wouldn't EVER count.

The popular vote favors inner and larger cities like NY, CHI and LA. Rural America must keep its voice in the direction of this country.

Large cities can't not control the country and silence my voice just because they are more populated. Votes control your states policies that impact your life. . But 50 states make up the federal govt and no one state should have that much power based on it's population. It's checks and balances
