Yet another example of senior management failings. I have watched this shop Go from strength to strength under the new store manager. Proves that hard work and commitment do pay off especially for all the children this charity supports. It's a disgrace and a tragedy that could have been avoided if senior management had monitored the shops poor performance prior to the lovely manager Sue taking over. Hats off to her and her team . This shop has an very much is an integral and valued part of the bushmead community and needs to be saved for all concerned. The elderly who cannot get into town use the shop for their needs. How many people are going to suffer due to the loss of this shop. Children who are clothed an toy's supplied, the elderly and the whole community. Support this petition an fight for the shop and staff.

Barnardo's charity shop Bushmead provides the local community with an opportunity to support a deserving charity and gives back a caring, friendly service to its customers. Please try to keep this shop open.

Brilliant little shop. Previous manager used to close for lunch. Current lady runs it as a proper business, whilst still keeping the personal and friendly service with all the customers.
Ridiculous decision to close imho.

It's a part of the community and the staff go far beyond the call of dutie. People are so upset they are literally crying in the shop, the children from the local nursery will be devastated

I think it is an absolute disgrace this great little shop is closing. The staff are so friendly and do a great job as well as making everyone feel very welcome. Just get one of the top bosses to sell one of their over expensive cars and that would pay the rent for at least 2-3 years

Wow. I'm so shocked. In this area we have such a diverse range of people
Including some children and families with difficult financial needs. Banardos helps children like this. But is penalising these children and families in this area. This shop is so much needed for all the families in the area. The staff are friendly and work hard and go above and beyond. I became a single mother last year following leaving. Toxic relationship and it took months to get on my feet. This shop helped not just with practical things but also the auppoelrt of the staff. Their local knowledge of parks Nd places to take the kids and being genuinely lovely meant I and my kids got through a tough patch. Banardos charity if this shop closes you will remove a gem in the crown that is this beautiful area.

Great shop great staff. If barnados is so keen to desert the area and Luton why don’t the staff open a charity shop themselves in the old a state agents and start a charity for Luton children

Please DO NOT close this lovely little charity shop! A warm welcome greets you as you step through the door and you leave with a warm glow inside; whether with your new found 'treasures' or having donated to such a worthwhile cause!
A great asset to the community which MUST remain!

Such a shame that such a well ran, and managed shop should be closing in September as it serves the local community so well.

I view this shop as my local library: there's always a good selection of books. It's a real community asset. I will really miss it if it closes.

I can not believe this shop is shutting considering in the past year it has become very busy and very popular with many people it has also bought in trade to the other shops in the parade.
I can’t understand why the previous manager was aloud to stay on years when she was making such a loss ,it was always shut and was never made very welcome when u went in .
This makes no sense at all it would be such a loss to the community especially the children who love going in and at the end of the day it’s meant to be a children’s charity.
