This camp, Paul, & Virginia Friesen have all had a tremendous impact on my life and faith! This camp is the most tangible experience of what heaven must be like (glorifying God with other believers with a unity that can only be found in Christ, by the grace of God)! I have been going here for many years; this camp and these people have had a pivotal role in shaping me into who I am as a believer in Christ, and who I continue to strive to be. It is my hope that we will return again, and that I will be able to continue going to this annual retreat with my family, both present and future!

Our family has been so blessed year after year by attending CBS. Paul and Virginia have poured their love, wisdom and encouragement into our marriage and our family as a whole. Please reconsider and bring back Family Camp under the direction of Paul and Virginia.

Family camp at CBS under the leadership of Paul and Virginia Friesen has been very instrumental in my life as a child, a young adult, and a parent. It was the one place the whole family wanted to be together for extended uninterrupted time. We learned God's truth about marriage and family and relationships. The position of family camp director was not a job but an act of sacrificial love from Paul and his wife Virginia to every person who received from them, whether camper or staff. That cannot be replaced. Because of our familiarity of InterVarsity from our connection with CBS, my college age daughter has connected with her IV chapter on campus. It grieves me that InterVarsity has taken family camp with Paul and Virginia away.

Camp has been wonderful for my family for many years. It was our favorite time of the year together. Two of my kids were baptized at camp. Paul and Virginia have been very instrumental in all of that. Their leadership and example are fantastic. Please bring them back to family camp.

Family Camp is something we look forward to every year and is one of the highlights of our year. It has made such an impact on my life. Campus by the Sea means so much to me and my family. From working there during my college years to bring my family now annually. It bring me to tears just thinking that we won't have a family camp in 2017. I pray that leadership will reconsider. Let us know what we can do to bring it back. Thank you Paul and Virginia for your faithfulness and your heart for serving families.

My husband and my, along with our daughter's lives have been pointed towards Jesus Christ. This beautiful campus and the teachings of Paul and Virginia Friesen go hand in hand. Cannot imagine those that will miss out on the leadership they have brought to such a beautiful place for over 40 years. Our hearts are broken.

This place, and this program has such a special place in my heart! I honestly haven't seen anything else like it. I believe it is so powerful to minister to families as a whole, and this program has done it well for generations.
When I came as a volunteer staff member in 2011, I encountered genuine Christian community for the first time and truly committed my life to Jesus here. I only stayed for two weeks that summer, but my whole life was changed! (I even started to initiate dinners and meals with my family because of how impacted I was just by eating meals with everyone!)
In 2013, I came back to serve on staff and I cherished every moment at family camp. And, as of December, I just passed my first year of marriage, and even had hopes to come back and serve at some point.
It breaks my heart to hear that this camp would be discontinued. Hopefully there will be a change of heart about this decision!

Going to CBS bi-yearly throughout my childhood, shaped my family to be one that honors God and values family time. Working as summer staff for 4 years further cemented the importance of living intentionally for Christ. I truly believe that God has done this work through the Biblical and nurturing leadership of the Friesens. I am so grateful to have been a part of it.

Was wondering how a petition could make sense in this context. After a little research it made sense.
Family camp is great :D
I'll be giving what I can to camp as staff regardless of what happens. But I love the family camps, and hope they continue. My brother's family is getting to the point where they were considering coming.

My now adult children have been influenced greatly by the family camps.
My son Andrew was baptized by Paul at CBS. He is now married leading a home fellowship. Giving back to the community of believers. My daughter spent a summer working at CBS during family camp. Olivia meet her husband Brennan there. They are both strong believers and have volunteered time at youth camps during the summer. Again giving back what they have received. What a legacy that Paul and Virginia leave behind. Julie and John Parish
