Extremely sad to lose Paul and Virginia Friesen's teachings at CBS. We had looked forward to renewing our 25 years' marriage vows with them this summer. Please reconsider your actions to cancel family camp! In the email announcement IV indicated concessions were given to the Friesens however they had declined. We believe that whatever requirements were imposed should be removed and allow them to remain providing the same quality education they have for years!
Thank you and may God Bless your decision.

PLEASE PLEASE reconsider this decision. This is much much more than our only family vacation of the year. It's been cohesive to gather for a week in the Word, fellowshipping with fellow close friends who love the Lord deeply. Where else is there to go now? Family vacations to travel for travel sake don't cut it. This camp has been a beacon for my family for the past 5 years. PLEASE IVCF, reconsider and come to common ground. Please recognize the high value of this camp and the leadership of Paul and Virginia. They are not replaceable....please reach out and fix this situation.

As a former Intervarsity member at Stanford University and an 11 time participant at the CBS Family Camp, it is with great sadness that I received news of this decision. The ministry provided by the family camp, bolstered by the important lessons taught by the remoteness of the location, have had a profound impact on my marriage, family, and outlook of my now grown children. The loss of this ministry and it's redemptive power to guide and nurture the future families of current Intervarsity student members is profound and without remedy, diminishes hope for future generations of believing families. Please reconsider.

This decision and how it has been handled are inexplicable. That is as nice as I can be at the moment. This is devastating. For what end has IVCF chosen to abandon this heritage?

This is an influential camp that builds the relationships of families as well as trains up the future generation in godliness. It also allows youth to serve as Jesus did and volunteer at the camp that not only grows them, it also takes less stress off of the existing camp. These families that also come donate generously toward various fundraiser meant to improve the camp. If you end family camp, you end that much needed supply of donations, for as all know college students are not known to be the ones to have money to burn.

I first came in 1970 and Mel Friedan was there. What an inspiration he was to me! Later others in my family either worked there as staff or helped with construction. It was such a wonderful time introducing my sons to family camp! Two sons worked there, and John stayed four several years. Even Grandma would come though it was hard for her to walk! This was the first time all my sons and wives could be in a small group together and share spiritual things. Also my granddaughter was above to have her own counselor so her parents could attend groups without worry! What a blessing family camp has been in our walk with God!

During the Summer of 2016 I took my 4 children to Family Campus by the Sea for the first time. We had such a great time that we want to attend again this year!

We were new to family camp last summer but we could already feel the love and holiness of the experience and we want to make it a beloved family tradition! It is a blessing to our family and so many others!

For three years now my family (my wife and 5 kids) have LOVED family camp. My wife and I have made friends with other families and have come with two other families. In fact we were planning on talking to our church about a retreat and/or family camp. I am now very concerned about the direction of IVCF. To cancel a 40+ year EXPERIENCE that generations of families have come to love and enjoy and learn about the Lord... that is disgraceful. My kids (5,5,7,9,11) look forward to coming each year. Even with other plans, this is the one thing that we were NOT GOING TO MISS. No matter what. Paul and Virginia are servants to our Lord Jesus and this is a ministry that should continue in perpetuity. In His Holy Name. Peter

Please pray about this.
We are heartbroken and devastated, after 10 years of drawing into the Lord's arms in the beauty of Campus by the Sea and experiencing the teaching of His Word, our family camp has come to an end.
This experience and powerful time of being in the presence of God has been a refuge for my soul.
Family Camp at CBS transforms hearts and changes lives are in the name of Jesus.
I am praising God for using Paul and Virginia Friesen for His glory!
They have been loving, encouraging, challenging, and shown us all how to do life with Christ at the center of it.
They are impacting His Kingdom in the most powerful way, through our families. And fighting the powerful hold the enemy has on our families.
I cannot understand?
But I do know this, He Reigns!

Paul and Virginia are nothing short if an amazing blessing and God has worked through them all these years. It is a travesty that this will no longer happen though family camp!
