There are better ways to address budget concerns! Music is truly a specialty to teach. Not all teachers can sing, much less teach music. Research has shown over and over again the importance of music in education. Please don't follow through with this mistake!

Laporte doesn’t have a ton of program options... do not further limit these kids. Give them the best you can.

It is resiculous that we have to go through this to keep a fundamental and key part of our culture in our schools. Music is so important in our growth and having an outlet from stress of school work!

My niece and nephews graduated from LaPorte. Music education enhances other learning--math, science, and creative thinking!

I am at a loss for words. That this should even be an issue is mind boggling.

Music is a big part in school. I am in choir and it makes my whole day better! It teaches kids a whole new way to express themselves and that’s so important! Please keep it!

No warning. No gathering of public opinion. This is outrageous. They know they’re doing wrong. It’s either making them look better or making them money. It’s not going to help the kids. Truly disgusting decision by people I thought I could respect.

We cannot lose music. We will lose our school.

We need music in high school and elementary to keep our kids eligible for college and to keep our district competetive. We cannot lose music. This will kill our school district in favor of the larger schools that offer the arts.

I didn't have Mrs. Bass personally as a teacher however I did like music class and have seen the wonderful work she has doNE with the kids that have been my nieces and nephews ages along with older ones. She has been an asset to the Laporte School and should be allowed to continue teaching all ages music. No music means so wite or spring concerts, no plays/ musicals, etc. That doesn't make sense to me one bit. I would live to hear the reasoning behind this decision.

Music is an important part of growing up. You learn so many different ways of expressing yourself. Don’t take music out of school!
