The children at this school need music in their lives.

Don’t let music become irrelevant in the lives of these children. It is a critical part of their development as humans, and we need to preserve that.

Think this is ridiculous. Need budget cuts so kill the music program. I look forward to all the concerts the school has. Need cuts get rid of the chrome books and go back to books and pencil and paper. All this school is doing is making me decide to send my child somewhere else. Irritating KEEP MUSIC!!

Music is very important to our children. We will need musicians later in life. Where will they come from if not school?

The benefits of music strongly outway the benefits your school thinks will come out of this cut.

I am a music educator. This is not acceptable. Music, the arts, are at the core of a child's development.

Music in schools is vital. Music creates confidence, teamwork, discipline, accomplishments and a family within the school.

Music education is a vital part of all student’s educational paths. Studies have proven that music students grades are higher. I hear from future music students that Mrs. Bass is an excellent teacher and her students love her. It is a shame that you are expecting regular Educational/classroom teachers to teach the students music. That is not what should be expected from them!

Unless I am mistaken, the law requires schools to offer some type of art in the form of studio art, dance, theatre, or music. What else is Laporte offering in terms of classes for the arts?

Music makes the world! It’s a productive outlet and stage for many emotions and art. Music creates confidence, learning environments, teamwork, discipline, and accomplishments. Not all students want sports, why discriminate the arts? Thanks to Mrs. Bass, I found an appreciation and admiration for music, composers and writers, a productive outlet, encouragement and confidence to practice and compete in something other than sports. A school without music, that once had it, is foolish.

Music has done so much for me it is hard to imagine where I would be without it.
