Large groups of teenagers have been gathering at Burke’s beach . There have been serious public safety concerns among residents and beach visitors. Underage drinking , fights among groups of teens , swimming well under the influence, harassing children , adults. Many of these teens are dropped at the beach early am and picked up late day - unaccompanied for the entire day. They consistently leave their trash. Additionally speeding on Beach street, Marginal St and Bay Avenue have become a serious public safety issue / endangerment.

The beach is to be enjoyed by all and protected by the town . Beach rules need to be enforced to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all .

Public Safety Concerns:

Underage drinking

Violence / large groups fighting

Swimming under the influence

Unaccompanied minors at beach all day

Harassment- verbally attacking residents and beach guest

Not abiding by beach rules putting additional stress on lifeguards

Speeding - endangerment to small children and residents ( Marginal St ,Beach St, and Bay Ave )

Parking - parking anywhere and everywhere - need more resident only parking signs and to be enforced .

Damaging Dunes
