I feel it is crucially important to keep french teachers in school. As an Acadian, I know very well the struggles to keep our heritage and language alive. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is for Louisiana Cajuns.

Getting rid of French only makes it harder on students who wants to go to college. Some colleges require students to have taken at least one foreign language. I thought it was a requirement to have at least one foreign language to graduate, under core 4 curriculum in Louisiana? With all the budget cuts in education, who is going to pay for these students college tuition? VPSB needs to worry about these students futures not just what goes on during their 4 yrs in high school!

I'm sorry. Did this just say the school board wants a wall rather than a teacher? It is not the buildings that teach. Our primary goal as educators is to take care of and help students to grow as human beings. In what universe does a wall do this? A French teacher expands their minds, increases their vocabulary, and teaches them how to negotiate differences. If you want a wall, rather than that, perhaps you should consider construction rather than education as an occupation. Priorities people!!

Nothing can replace a real teacher. Teaching French is essential to preserve Louisiana's rich culture but also to open new opportunities for the students.

Why would a Louisiana public school eliminate links to the past and a road to the future?

This will mean that no French teachers are actively teaching in the most Cajun Place in the world. Quelle honte! C'est une tragédie!

Je trouve que l'apprentissage du français est une langue bien trop belel pour la laisser entre les touches d'un robot-ordinateur...en guise d'enseignant ! Bonne chance à cette écolw !

French Immersion at my school made me into the successful college student I am today. This is also the dumbest thing I have heard in a very long time...and I regularly listen to Donald Trump speak,
