I think learning from computers is terrible... There are different ways to learn there's visual, auditorial, and hands-on. A computer only talks to you it doesn't give you all the other important things... I.e. Expereience, or the knowledge gained from teaching over many of years!!!

As a university professor, I would hate to see kids from the school deprived of a resource like the one they have in this teacher. I hope that school officials recognize the tremendous value they have in this personnel asset!

Mme Colin is a true professional and one of the best teachers of French in the state. Online courses are not the same, I know, I have taught French both online and in the classroom and there is no comparison.

As a French teacher, I believe foreign language education is an integral part of the learning process.

I am a product of what French in Louisiana Public Schools is worth- my French is now fluent and i have lived in France and Switzerland for many years. You never know what your high school French teacher can do for you- mine changed the course of my life!

Let's keep a human face to learning especially language where expressions, intonations and immediate feedback are central to a better learning experience.

Are you kidding me??? FRENCH is our local and cultural language. It should be celebrated and taught in ALL of our schools!

This is a French-speaking state. We shouldn't let our culture deteriorate more than it already has. Keep the teacher and cut down on something else.

There's no need to cut out a teacher, when you can cut other school activities and replace it with something less/none costing.

I always hear great things about her from my niece that takes her class. The students love her and she's a great inspiration to her students.

As a French Teacher myself, this is ridiculous!! Language-learning does NOT happen in a vacuum--nor does it happen online!!!! For being in Vermilion Parish (one of THE most francophone regions) priorities are misplaced. YES, a flood wall is important, but not at the expense of cultural and linguistic erosion. Find another way to pay for the wall.

It's completely selfish for them to let her go! Praying for her! Students won't learn from a computer the way they can learn from an actual human who has more than enough experience and background!
