Students of Erath High School have recently been informed that their French teacher is being "let go" in order to fund the building of a wall. Sign this petition if you would rather learn from a Belgian native rather than a computer.
The petition reached 100 signatures this morning. I have requested a formal meeting with the school administration to discuss the budget reallocation and will submit these names as a record of student concern.

We need to hit the one hundred signature milestone before I submit our formal request to the school board. Please ensure your networks are aware of this target so we present a unified front at the upcoming administration meeting.

Erath is fortunate to have a French speaking program by a Belgian native and should do whatever it takes to keep Madame in her place. A computer program cannot bring life experiences and world travel to light, only a person can be so accomplished.

How odd that the parish that touts itself as being "the most French-speaking in the state" doesn't see the irony in eliminating the French language program in their schools and continues to withhold the gift of French Immersion to their own children.

Mme Colin is a true professional and one of the best teachers of French in the state. Online courses are not the same, I know, I have taught French both online and in the classroom and there is no comparison.

I am a product of what French in Louisiana Public Schools is worth- my French is now fluent and i have lived in France and Switzerland for many years. You never know what your high school French teacher can do for you- mine changed the course of my life!

When I was junior at Erath High in 2010 they tried to do the same thing to her. We fought for her and even got detention for starting a petition . But we threatened news crews and stood tall . She stayed! We won!

No wall is needed if a teacher will lose her job. She is a amazing teacher and is doing her part in teaching those students who need this class for their future. Why not look into cutting a coach or two if its for budget reasons.
