To the Head of School, Mr. Gilles Joseph and to the Board of Lycee Rochambeau: As a group of parents who currently have, or will soon have, children enrolled in the Lycee’s primary school (Maternelle), we would like to record our concerns with the decision under consideration affecting these classes. In particular, we are extremely concerned by the possible decision to terminate Marie Cayatte's employment in June 2009. We strongly believe that Ms. Cayatte’s teaching abilities and interpersonal skills are an essential asset for the Lycee’s primary school, and that her departure would further reduce the Lycee’s appeal thereby compounding its financial difficulties. We therefore urge the Board to reconsider its decision and retain Marie Cayatte in June 2009 in the interest of the students, and in the interest of maintaining the high teaching standards that have made the Lycee’s reputation in the DC area. Au proviseur, Mr Gilles Joseph et a la Fondation du Lycee Rochambeau: Nous, parents d’enfants actuellement ou prochainement inscrits en maternelle au Lycee Rochambeau, exprimons par la presente nos craintes par rapport aux decisions imminentes concernant l’ecole maternelle. Nous sommes particulierement inquiets de la possibilite evoquee de mettre fin au contrat de Madame Marie Cayatte en Juin 2009. Nous croyons fermement que les qualites d’enseignante de Madame Cayatte sont un atout pour l’ecole maternelle et que son depart ne ferait que reduire l’attrait de l’ecole maternelle et contribuerait par la meme occasion aux difficultes financieres du Lycee. En consequence, nous demandons au Conseil de le Fondation de maintenir Madame Cayatte au sein du corps enseignant dans l’interet non seulement des enfants, mais egalement afin de maintenir les standards d’education qui ont fait la renommee du Lycee dans la region de Washington.
