After 21 years of service to LSBU, beloved lecturer Katie Fordyce has fallen victim to the University's budget cuts. Her secondment from KCH will be terminated by LSBU on 13th August 2024. Katie is a crucial member of the Diagnostic Radiography teaching team and has influenced each and every students' learning for the better. We are extremely disappointed to hear of the University's decision so have created this petition to exemplify how indisposable Katie is to the customers of the University - the students.

The knowledge that Katie imparts to students is second to none and this decision will have a detrimental affect on us the students and also to the University itself.
Katie is a valued member of the LSBU team, she is one of the best lecturers they have and she brings a wealth of experience to the team. The university is losing out by their course of action. Katie has been instrumental in my journey at LSBU and how LSBU have got themselves into this position is unfathomable.
I can’t imagine anyone studying Diagnostic Radiography at LSBU and not being taught by Katie, we had the opportunity to have her as our first year lecturer and I don’t see anyone that could teach her module better than her
I don’t think students of LSBU including myself will manage to pass the course if Katie is not the teacher!! Hope the give it a second thought before the students suffer & struggle coz we r suffering with other teachers as it is!!
I completely disagree that Katie has been chosen to be sent away because they just cant afford to keep her as the university has a lack of funds and they don’t consider her academic knowledge and how much she is helpful for us.
The best foundation any aspiring diagnostic radiographic student can ever have; Katie Fordyce.
Katie is a important member of staff to the Diagnostic Radiography pathway at LSBU. It has been such a honour for Katie working for the LSBU community and such a shame that she is leaving as she is a great tutor,teacher and supporter. You cannot dismiss such high level of experience and skills.

Katie is an amazing lecturer and personal tutor without her help and encouragement I don’t think I would have been able to complete my degree.
