Dr Potter is an excellent lecturer and early career researcher. She is an asset to Griffith University. She has won teaching awards. She is the project lead for Seek and Sign, a research project focused on creating technologies to help young Deaf children learn Auslan (Australian Sign Language). She has a grant application under consideration. She is the course convenor for 7 courses each year. She currently has 1 PHD student, 2 Honours student and at least 3 prospective PHD students and 3 prospective Honours students seeking her out for next year. She is currently teaching 185 second-year students 70 third-year students, And yet, her contract is coming to an end before the end of Semester 2, 2013. She has no news on whether or not her contract will be renewed. Her students will not be able to receive finalised marks, and third year students will not be able to graduate, if Dr Potter's contract is not renewed. Her Research students will lose their key point of contact, if Dr Potter's contract is not renewed. We, the undersigned, demand that Griffith University do all that it can to ensure they do not lose this extraordinary woman.
