We should not be going backwards with recycling. Birmingham has a very effective and extensive recycling program that includes more than just paper. The current recycling program is a minimal effort for Irondale. Surely we can do this much, not less.

Please keep this service! It is a viable resource to combat filling the landfills. My bin is full every week , I would need two bins if it went to twice monthly. I could use one garbage pickup per week if the recyling stays weekly. The city could publicize the program more which might help.

Recycling is a win-win situation for Irondale. If there are districts that want it to end, then the councilmen from that district should consider an effort to familiarize his/her constituents with the benefits and convenience of the program.

I moved to Irondale back in August and was very excited that they had a recycling program in place. I recycled at my old place in Pinson, but had to carry my items to a local facility. I have noticed that almost everyone on my street recycles, and it would be a huge blow to us if you were to stop the program. Do something good for our community and KEEP RECYCLING,

perhaps we need to encourage more people to recycle. I would be in favor of reducing garbage pickup days.

It is important that we continue to have weekly recycling collection. This is essential for our environment. The fact that only 30 people argued for it in a meeting is a representation of the wider population. Please continue this important service.

Please do not reduce our recycling from once a week. We have lots to recycle and it needs to be gone weekly from our houses. There is no where to store the containers when they are full. Trying to figure out a schedule and remember when it would be coming to our neighborhood is ridiculous.

We do not have the room to store our recycling for two weeks. Trying to teach the kids to do the right thing for our environment, but a two week stretch will make it very difficult. Please continue this service every week!

Recycling in an aggressive consumer society such as ours is a critical activity for both the citizen and the government, which is the servant of that citizen.
