Reducing or eliminating the recycling program would be foolish. By now, we all know the environmental impact of programs such as these. There are also societal impacts though. Any time our little city can be at best a leader, and at worst on par with not only our surrounding communities, but the mentality of the nation is good. To drop below average will only encourage below average mentalities and actions.

We took our recycle to downtown Birmingham for years. The fact that a few council men don't want to bother doing all they can to save the environment for future generations does not mean that the citizens of Irondale show that same level of irresponsibility. Please keep the recycle program as is, and if possible, please find a way to recycle glass. Thank you!

I was glad to see this program start - it's about time Irondale came on line with the rest of our surrounding communities. Reducing it to a bi-monthly program will hinder the advancement of this program - it will be too much for residence to manage and they'll likely stop recycling in order for their 'trash' to go out more quickly. I would recommend two things, 1) greater communication to the Irondale citizens of the program - how it works, when pick up is, what is taken, that bins are available for free, that it's not an 'additional' cost to them; and 2) PROVIDE BIGGER BINS!!!

Please keep weekly recycling in the city of Irondale. Instead of reducing the days of recycling, the city should reduce garbage pick up to one day a week. Let's be a progressive city.

it would be foolish to reduce any trash or recycling services. keep things as is as its not broke the longer items remains at the house means more bugs/rodents. do not change the schedule as its perfect as it is. thanks

Almost all my neighbors are utilizing the service. Reducing the number of pickup days would greatly reduce the effectiveness of this necessary service. I cannot imagine why anyone would want endanger the program.
