Hog Haven has been removed from the vendor line-up at the Fairlington Farmers Market and replaced with a vendor that is not a farm. The neighborhood committee that made this decision has refused to openly discuss the matter or even reveal their identities. The terse reason that's been provided is based on a false premise and defamatory. If you agree that this is not in the best interest of the Fairlington community, then please sign this petition appealing this decision and officially requesting that it be reversed. I honestly never thought this many people would care about a local farmers market squabble but here we are and it feels surreal. The momentum is honestly building so fast it makes my head spin a little bit because it proves we really aren't alone in wanting some actual answers from this committee (which is still hiding for some reason).

This type of operation is the whole reason for having a farmers market! We invite the members of the neighborhood committee to act in a democratic manner and have a public explanation of their decision.
Hog Haven was a primary reason for going to our local market. Restricting them from our market is very likely to reduce attendance and revenue. HH is at other Arlington markets so now I will get in my car to get a sandwich and produce I would have bought at the FCC.
We were just up at the market and the new vendor ran out of breakfast sandwiches by 9:30. Another reason to cook on premises. Maybe we can support 2 vendors???
As a long time Fairlington resident the farmers market has been a highlight that we’ve enjoyed over the years. Hog Haven’s breakfast sandwiches have brought us out every weekend, and have been a huge treat. We hate to see see the Fairlington Farmers mkt lose this amenity! I will be forced to seek out another location for my farmers market needs!

We have a farmers market to support FARMERS, kicking out a FARMER to replace with a business that is not a farm is antithetical to the purpose of a Farmers market. Bring Hog Haven back!
