Since coming to Sacred Heart/St. Raphael only five months ago, Father Thom Miller has been a bright light in these dark times for the church. He has impressed us with his humanity and his spirituality, and he has inspired many Catholics who were raw from the abuse scandal and reeling from the recent parish realignment. Now, abruptly and without warning, Bishop Zubik has decided to transfer Father Thom at a time when we need him most. Please sign this petition urging the Bishop to postpone this disruptive decision until he meets with a representative delegation to hear our fervent wishes that Father Thom remain at our parish.

Fr. Miller is a very kind and compassionate Priest who is attracting more individuals to the Mass and Sacraments. I believe Bishop Zubick's handling of this situation is a detriment to the Parish and Parishioners.
Insufficient rationale was given for the move, with no plans communicated about who will be assigned here now. At a time when the bishop should be well aware that the church lacks goodwill and the benefit of the doubt we’re extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency.
As a 20 year parishioner and parent of two Sacred Heart students I am disappointed and disheartened by this unilateral decision that will negatively impact our church and school. Our family does not want Father Thom reassigned.
Father Thom is the best! I was so nervous on my first mass of altar serving. He told me not to worry and that I would do a great job. Please don’t move him. Father Thom made me feel welcome the first time I stepped into one of his masses.
Father Thom was a breath of fresh air for our parish, an inspiration to our children and quite a welcome change. It is a shame this change was silenced by intransparency. Parishioners deserve a voice...and they fund the parish and the school. Everyone has a choice.
The lack of transparency and openness on the part of the diocese is very troubling to me. I believe this will add to the large number of people leaving our church.
He is a Pope Francis priest. Smells like the sheep especially those who stray, are pained or estranged. He shows us Jesus and we need him
