The lack of transparency and openness on the part of the diocese is very troubling to me. I believe this will add to the large number of people leaving our church.

He is a Pope Francis priest. Smells like the sheep especially those who stray, are pained or estranged. He shows us Jesus and we need him

I am not a member of St. Joe's or Sacred Heart, but I do have connections to both churches. Fr. Thom was beloved at St. Joe's and he was taken away to Sacred Heart. Now he has become an integral part of Sacred Heart and has a lot of support. He should have never been relocated from St. Joe's, especially with only 3 years until retirement. The parishioners from all of the churches in the Lower Valley Grouping all knew of him and there is no doubt he would have unified the grouping. While I am not a fan of some of his decisions since being at Sacred Heart, I enjoy the masses he celebrates, and people there have come to like him. Truly, I believe that he was set up to fail at Sacred Heart. If he must be removed, it would be in the Bishop's and the Diocese's best interest to move him back to St. Joe's.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to continue our support for the church. In regards to Father Thom, you removed him from St. Joes despite his being universally liked by the parishioners. You replaced him with three priests who do not know any of the parishioners and now we have no one leading our church. It appears that you are soon to repeat your mistake and further alienate more Catholics. Someone needs to rethink their actions and the subsequent consequences.

Father Thom was with us for over 16 years. We loved him and wanted him to stay. I am appalled the bishop would consider moving a priest the caliber of Fr Thom.

Can someone provide insight as to what happened at 11:30am mass on Sunday March 24th in regards to Fr. Thom? Thanks. He will be missed.

Fr Thom has been such a blessing to not only my family personally, but to the lives and ministries of so many of us at St Joseph. I hope the Holy Spirit moves through Bishop Zubik to allow the bishop to allow Fr Thom to remain here at Sacred Heart it St Jospeh Parish, where he is so beloved.

Couldn’t agree with these heart felt comments any more. Could this be happening to end the St. Joe’s migration to Sacred Heart/St. Raphael’s? I find it hard to believe a few folks in the minority would be able to have a priest relocated.

Let me start by saying please keep Fr. Thom at St. Raphael Parish. I think the parishioners should have been notified of this decision so we could have voiced our opinions. Fr. Thom is a very kind and caring person, and to move him in such an abrupt way is just ludicrous. Shame on whoever was involved in this decision!

This man is undeniably the best thing to happen to the St. Raphael/Sacred Heart pairing of churches since the dawn of time. We have followed Fr Thom (from) St Joseph's and are stunned that he is being reassigned. Shame on you if you are part of the rumored under current to have him removed!

We are long time members of St. Joseph O'Hara and I am a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. I would ask Father Tom where he sees he can best serve. Father Tom bleeds compassion for Gods people in all walks of life. His faith is deep and sincere. How could any priest be more caring? I can only imagine how full our Churches would be and how many more souls would be soft ened if there more Father Toms, but there are not! If you are one of the souls touched by Father Tom, you will feel it. Gods blessings to you Father Tom in any of your future endeavors as you take care of the needs of so many. Apparently Gods using you once again to get his work done.
