The market must stay public for the benefit of the sellers and the customers - not for the benefit of some private company.

Handing this wonderful market over to a private vendor would be yet another assault on the culture of Dublin. Don't make this mistake.

This has been a symbol of Dublin for generations. This time can we please hold on to cultural treasures like these instead of throwing them away to another franchise or chain that completely destroys cultural identity in these areas

Tired of the continuing privatisation of all our assets and the erosion of any of the character and individuality in this city that signifies us as Irish and different. Keep control in the hands of the people not selling our assests to the highest bidder

Everytime I take the bus into Dublin city I see a new building site and yet another multi storied building. Let's ensure we keep some of our heritage intact. Dublin City Market must continue as a public marketing place.

This beautiful old building should be kept by DCC for use as a food market, once it goes into private hands there is no going back.
