The school board is still not listening to our concerns about the closure of the eco school. Go to the new petition link I posted and add your name there so we keep our numbers strong in one place. Text three friends and tell them to sign the new link immediately.

Closing this school will make the surrounding school boundaries huge. Kids will not be able to walk to school, in direct opposition to an eco-school concept. Also, this school is in a changing community and it is short sighted to close a school in an area where student growth is likely in the future
In the 8 years my family has lived here there have been many changes to the population demographics. Many of the original residents are, sad to say, aging. As they move on younger families move in and rebuild and rejuvenate the neighbourhood. I see it happening often, and you would only need to talk with a local real estate agent for proof. It would be extremely short sited to close a school in a neighbourhood that is morphing once again into s family start up neighbourhood.
I agree this school should stay open its one of the best if not the best school in town too many schools getting closed my 3 daughters all went here please do keep this wonderful school open
The Eco school is a huge step in forward thinking in our education system. Let's not go backwards & rob ourselves of this amazing opportunity for education for our children & theirs to come.
Please keep the eco-school open, my preschoolers are hoping to attend 2016/2018!!
Keep departure bay school open! I've registered my son to start kindergarten there this September and the Eco school is the right fit for him. The location is perfect
This school can not close. There is way too much momentum going on with the eco school. Changing anything drastic ...like its location will be detrimental to its progress. Moving it and closing the building is an absolutely unacceptable option.

Departure Bay Eco School is the right school in the right location. The staff has worked hard to build an incredible program that is showing such positive results. To close down the school and displace all the students and dismantle the learning program they have built around their amazing location a short walk from the beach, walking trails and a salmon spawning stream would be a great mistake. The teachers deserve to have their hard work rewarded. Our children deserve the chance to be educated by such passionate teachers in an amazing location. This community should continue to be enriched by it's long standing elementary school and all that it has to offer.
