I would’ve been thrilled if we had a chancellor like him when I was a student at ECU. It’s rare to find someone in an administrative position to care enough to try to make a connection with the students. After all, universities are suppose to be for the students, so instead of punishing this man why don’t we applaud him?

As a ECU alumni this is ridiculous. He’s allowed to have a life and he’s approachable and what we need as the face of our university

The press lives in the “gotcha” moments. Almost a conscious by certain persons to take down a good leader and discredit a otherwise stellar career

Please remove Chancellor Dan from administrative leave, fully reinstating him as Chancellor!
You judged unfairly and your actions in penalizing this man were and are ridiculous.
I have lived in this city for 20 years with my family and I have never seen another Chancellor as supportive of the students and the citizens.
I am an ECU parent and a Greenville resident. I support Chancellor Dan and do not think he should be penalized for his personal actions outside of work and visiting our vendors and supporting our town, and the people in it.
This is a grown man and should not be persecuted for having a life outside of work.

I fully support Dan Gerlach and encourage the Board to really evaluate their response to a handful of “complaints.”
Keep Dan, make him the next ECU Chancellor!
