This should not be an issue. He has done a lot for the relationship among students and staff at ECU. Several other students were there that night and were shocked when they heard that this is happening. Because of the angle of the video it was all taken out of context. The students that were there said that’s not how it happened at all. This should not overshadow all the good that he has been doing for the university.

I want a chancellor who is personable. Who is an active voice for the students. That’s who Dan Gerlach is. He’s in the community and around ECU with his seemingly omniscient presence making ECU, Greenville and Eastern North Carolina a better place.

I am a current Masters student at East Carolina University and this is the only chancellor I have ever seen be so engaged with students and faculty.

Please keep Chancellor Dan! As an alumni of 2003 and 2005, he is the best chancellor we have had. As a previous student athlete and dance team alumni, we never had interaction and involvement from a chancellor like him.
