I’ve seen Dan walking to campus at 6:30 on Saturday mornings multiple times while I’m on my way to work. I think it’s impressive how far he’s going to be relatable and available to students.

It actually INFURIATES me as well as many others that chancellor dan is receiving this much backlash from trying to get to know the students on our campus. This is the first time in the 4 years I’ve been at this school and seen a chancellor who actually strives to be what a chancellor should. ECU is known as a party school- I honestly applaud the fact that Dan recognized that this particular scene would be where he would get to know students and for us to recognize that he is approachable and WANTS to get to know us. How are chancellors supposed to know and do what’s best for students without getting to know them!? Absolutely ridiculous it’s getting all this attention and asking the opinions of everyone else BUT the students. We matter. Our opinions matter. This university wouldn’t even be a university without us.
